Opening
Paper Boat is a film that is lifted from a novel best seller by Dewi 'Dee' Lestari. The story of honesty, openness of feelings, but blocked by other feelings. Feelings that grow without love, lie to each other, and pretend each other. Starring Maudy Ayunda as Kugy, Duke of Dolken as Keenan, Reza Rahadian as Remi, Elyzia Mulachela as Luhde, and Kimberly Ryder as Wanda. The paper boat was directed by Hanung Bramantyo, one of Indonesia's famous film directors who is often able to combine elements of quality with commercial selling value in each of his works.

Content
The paper boat tells the tidal relationship of two human children, namely Kugy (Maudy Ayunda) and Keenan (Duke of Dolken). Kugy himself was introduced to Keenan by his two best friends, Noni (Sylvia Fully R) and Eko (Fauzan Smith), when they picked Keenan after his return from his studies in the Netherlands. Kugy and Keenan love story does not necessarily run smoothly. When she first met, Kugy was in love with Ojos (Dion Wiyoko), a handsome man she had been dancing with since high school. Keenan himself also got close to a beautiful girl named Wanda (Kimberly Ryder). Kugy and Keenan both like each other. Both may be equally aware of it. But the two never really expressed their feelings. The story begins when they both study in Bandung. Kugy, who aspires to be a fairy tale writer, lectures at the Faculty of Letters.

Kugy is a tomboyish, jovial girl, and who believes she is the agent of the God of Neptune. Kugy always has a unique "ritual", that is, write each of his heart out to a piece of paper, which he then made into a boat to be swept into the water. Though glimpsed she is a careless girl who is careless, but she has adult thoughts. Keenan, a talented young painter, was forced to lecture at the Faculty of Economics by his father. Together with Kugy's best friend since childhood, Noni (Sylvia Fully R), as well as Noni's girlfriend, Eko (Fauzan Smith), who is also Keenan's cousin, the four of them became a compact gang. From the first to admire each other, Kugy and Keenan secretly fall in love. But things get in the way. Not only that, the friendship of Kugy and Noni broke out when Kugy did not come to Noni's birthday party held at Wanda's house to keep her heart. Keenan eventually went to Pak Wayan's (Tyo Pakusadewo) house, a painter of Lena's old friend, as well as Keenan's mentor painting. In a depressed mood, the creativity of Keenan's painting is clogged, but Luhde (Elyzia Mulachela), Pak Wayan's nephew, manages to restore the spirit of Keenan. A collector of Wayan gallery named Remi (Reza Rahadian) became the first buyer. Wanting to quickly leave Bandung and his old environment, Kugy struggled to graduate quickly. As soon as he passed the trial, Kugy's older brother Karel (Ben Kasyafani) helped Kugy to apprentice in an advertising agency called his friend AdVocaDo, Remi. Kugy's work accomplishes brilliantly, and attracts Remi's attention. In 2004, Keenan's mother came to Bali to see Keenan to inform her father's critical condition.

Then Keenan decided to return to Jakarta and before leaving, he promised Luhde that he would return to Bali after his father was cured. In Bandung, Noni and Eko packed up, packing their belongings to be brought to Jakarta. While packing, Noni finds a box containing a book and a letter in it. After reading the letter, he realized that Kugy liked Keenan, and that was the reason why Kugy did not attend his birthday party. Then they rushed to Jakarta to meet Kugy and Keenan.  Several years later, Kugy and Keenan accidentally meet again at the wedding of Noni and Eko. They came back close. And once again, their relationship is limited by other stories, by the hearts of Remi and Luhde. The Boat This paper illustrates Kugy and Keenan's more mature relationships. That although they need each other, but both have chosen the hearts of others. They have to run the choice sincerely.

Deficiency :
There is one part of the conflict that seems interesting while the other is flat due to the conflict that arises from the personal life side of each character too much that ultimately breaks the audience's attention. The film is divided into two seasons so that theaudience must wait for the next season. The end of the story is less clear, still hanging so as to cause curiosity for the audience.
